Lush Sugar Scrub and Nail of the day.

Hi Guys,

So I had noticed with the weather change and being sick this week my lips had become really dry. I had bought the Lush Lip scrub in "Bubblegum" on the Website last week and I thought I'd give it a go in hope that it would make an improvement.

It looks like this and has a really strong bubblegum flavour, Which to me is not a complaint! :)
I took a small amount on to my finger and started to scrub away. I figured I'd have to go back to get more but I didn't. That small bit actually went a long way!
I then rinsed my lips off with a little water and instantly noticed a difference! My lips were much smoother and tingled!
I then slapped on some vaseline for good measure!
And voila. New lips :)

While doing this I noticed that my polish was annoying me so I decided to change it to a better colour!

I started off with the same thing that I always do -
I applied two coats as my base coat. It dries super quick and was the best buy EVER!
I then followed it up by "Misguided Splash" in the colour MissTique.

I actually got this Nail Varnish in an Issue of Cosmopolitan but you can buy it Here! I really like it because it's true to colour and you only really need one coat and it lasts ages before chipping etc!

Have a nice Night,
Lot's of love,

For those who have kids with sensitive skin :)

Hey Curly Wurly's! :)

So my boyfriends sister (Arleen) minds two beautiful little girls, Bluebell (3) and Harper (10months), She brought them round today and Bluebell asked me could she paint my face! However I have never been able to use face paints because I have the world's MOST sensitive skin ever! Arleen explained that Bluebell also has sensitive skin but that her uncle had bought her these special face paint crayons on Funky Website.
My inner child said Why the hell not? I had missed out on being a butterfly and a pussycat for so many years! :)

They're almost like a moist crayon if that makes sense. They twist up and down and have a lid on top.
And come in a variety of different colours!

Bluebell instructed me to sit down on the floor as it was time to become beautiful! :) So I plonked down onto the floor and waited while she picked out what she was going to attack first!

Above: Here she was "Highlighting" underneath my eye brows! She had already given me a nose like a dog and had applied "eyeshadow" to my eyelids, One yellow, One blue!

And now for the finished product......
She put some flowers on my forehead, Gave me a mustache, some spots and gave me some Pink "Kissable" lips. Stood back and went "Wow...You're Gorgeous!" Bless her, She's too cute!

I had to leave this on for a good two hours as she wouldn't let me wash it off and It didn't once get itchy or sore. With most "Normal" facepaints I would have well had an allergic reaction by now!

When she went home I took out the baby wipes to see how easily it came off. One sweep of the wipe and it was gone, But had stayed on my face for those two hours without moving or smudging, Despite me playing around with the kids!
The proof is on the wipe!^^^

I would definitely recommend investing in some of these if you have kids. I remember being the kid at birthday parties that could never get there face painted while all the other kids ran around being "Spiderman" and "Tigers"!
And it was a fun way to spend a rainy evening when you can't go outside to play! :)

Lots of Love,
Courtenay

Products of the night.

Curly Wurly's,

I had a little time to myself this evening, Wayne had gone out with the lads to play some snooker and I thought I'd treat myself to a nice bath!
I re-opened my Lush boxes and with trouble tried to decide which products to use.
I settled on my beat-up bath bomb!
I ran the hot tap and let the bath fill up halfway. I have heat sensitive skin, so what is Luke-warm to you guys will be much hotter to me!
I popped the Bath bomb into the water and it instantly started to fizz!
I ran the cold tap and went and sat down for a couple of minutes and came back to THIS!

If I could have jumped in fully clothed I would have. The water had turned pink, Which admittedly you can't really see from the photo and the smell was DIVINE! So I hoped on in to it and never wanted to get out. But the water ran cold and I got bored lying there after a while!
It left my skin super soft and smelling yummy. But that wasn't enough. I had to add in that little extra smell so I used some of the Snow Fairy shower gel too!
Two hours on I can still smell it off my skin. Even when I'm moving as I'm typing this I keep on getting fragranced Whafts (I'm aware whaft isn't a real word but it's how I describe bursts of fragrance!) The smell is like candyfloss and all things yummy! :)

In the bath I happened to look at my nails and I actually felt sorry for them. So I decided to paint them! I remembered that I had picked up a nail varnish in the week and I thought I'd give it a go!

I had bought "Houston we have a Purple" by OPI.
I started off by applying my Nail Hardener by Sally Hansen. I'm Lactose Intolerant so I can't drink milk, Which means I don't really get Calcium, Which sadly = Crappy Paper thin nails!
So I thought I'd give this a shot.

It's really good and dries really fast. You just apply one or two coats to your nails.
I then started to apply the OPI. What a LET-DOWN! I had to apply three layers before I could even start to notice a difference. This resulted in wet nails for the next half an hour (I had left my Rapid-dry in my mum's). Anything that I touched marked my nails and took chunks out of them. So in the end I got so Peed off that I just took nail varnish remover and started over again, This time only applying the Nail Hardener.
I would not recommend you buy this OPI. Maybe it was just a bad batch or something, Any other time that I have bought OPI, They have been really strong in colour and only require One or Two coats Maximum!
*Rant over*!!

I then finished up by applying some cuticle butter and sat down in a Huff!
On the plus side however. I still smell Yummy! :)
See... There's still a silver lining! :/

I'm off to relax for the evening now, Hope you guys do the same!

Lots of Love,
Courtenay

Lush Haul - Delish!

Curly Wurly's,

As I was dying my hair earlier, My phone rang. It was work saying that a package had arrived for me (I always get my orders sent to where I work because that way there is always someone to sign for them). Well I couldn't get down there any faster if I tried!

Saying that I was excited was a bit of an understatement! I actually squealed like a little girl! So after I had done my hair I threw some make-up on my face and jumped into the car down to work.

There awaited me, Two cute little boxes! I went in to the bar to have lunch with my friend John and we literally tore the boxes open in a frenzied excitement!
Whoever you are Steve-O, you made my day! :)

I thought this message on the inside of the box was super cute, So I had to take a photo of it!

Inside box number one was the following-
  1. Snow Fairy Shower Gel for Body and Hair.
Description: Fabulously fruity, candy floss pink and sweet as sugar Shower Gel. To smell good enough to eat this Christmas, Wash your hair and body with this sparkling seasonal must-have.

     2. Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.

Description: Repairs your dry cuticles- But dont stop there! Flutter some butter over your heels, elbows ad toes too.

     3. Bubblegum Lip Scrub.

Description: Bubblegum flavour sugar lip scrub. Rub a little gently into your lips to scrub them smooth and soft.

     4. Handy Gurugu Hand Cream.

Description: Helpful, heavenly, herbal hand cream with natural Shea butter from our friends in Gurugu village, Ghana.

    5. DreamWash The shower soap.

Description: With Calamine and Chamomile and loads of smoothing herbs, this lovely, calming shower soap brings peace to troubled skins.

    6. One broken up Bathbomb. I dunno what happened this fellow but he didn't quite make the journey! It's only going to be broken up and thrown into the bath anyways, So I don't mind!

In box number two there was the following:

  1.  Rub Rub Rub- Startlingly refreshing shower scrub.
Description: Lather and scrub all over your body( and your hair when your in a hurry.)

     2. And another bath bomb. But this one made it :)

I chose Lush because all of their products are hand made and are made of Natural ingredients! I'm super excited to hop into the bath to use some of these!

I also liked the fact that they left this message inside-

As I said, I can't wait to use this stuff. I'll put up a blog to let you gals know how I get on and how good I smell afterwards ;)

Love you Loads,

Time to Dye!

Hey Curly Wurly's.

So it's that time again when my roots are starting to show and my hair is getting dull, So i decided it was time to go to the chemist to pick up a hair dye. I stumbled across this bad boy and the shop assistant said that she had only heard good reviews, So I decided to give it a go.
It is the John Frieda Precision Foam Colour in the shade 4BG( Dark Chocolate Brown).
At under €9, I thought why the hell not!
To prep myself, I washed my hair yesterday. Never dye on freshly washed hair as it doesn't really cling to your hair. I also went around my forehead and the sides of my face with vaseline so that if I got any on it I could just wipe it off! Pity my ears didn't get the same treatment... Let's just say they're a lovely shade of brown! ;)

I was a bit skeptical doing it on my own as usually I just get my sister to do it but she is working crazy hours at the moment so I thought I'd go ahead and do it on my ownie-own!
It comes with the following in the box-
As well as an instruction leaflet. The gloves might I add were made for five year old little girl hands. Either that or I'm just in Fat-Hand Denial!

As you can see from the photo below my roots were starting to show. This is a before photo. I kinda look like I'm balding but it's just the light!

I couldn't really take photo's while I was in the process because I had the foam all over the gloves and I didn't really want chocolate brown Iphone!

The photo above is while I was waiting for the colour to develop. It goes on in a white hair mousse like consistency and darkens as it's working. I found this really handy as I could see where I had put it and where I had missed. (I had no make-up on so I looked super pale and the t-shirt belongs to Wayne! I didn't want to ruin my clothes!)

I put the conditioner in afterwards and oh my lord did it smell DELISH! The instructions told me to only use some of it and to keep the rest for my next shower to prolong the color, However it was only a small bottle and I ended up having to use it all to properly coat my hair. The results were really good though. I have super soft yummy smelling hair now! :)

This is an after shot of my hair. The quality is super bad though because I took it on my Iphone and it looks like it has a reddish hue of it. Bit it doesn't!
I would definitely purchase this dye again as it was simple to use and affordable with good results!

What kind of dye do you use? Have you guys tried this one too?
Loads of love,
Courtenay

Eyelash Haul :)

Hi,

I don't know about you guys, But I personally hate the fact that eyelashes are so damn expensive in this country! It annoys me that it costs me nearly 9€ for a pair of falsies!, So I decided to go searching on the net!
I came across this brilliant website called www.MadameMadeline.com. I went for a snoop and instantly fell in LOVE with the brand "RedCherry". Having followed many YouTube make-up tutorials in the past, I can now understand why they dropped that brand in so many times, and why not at just $1.99 a pop?! They are almost a replica of M.A.C's own falsies but without the price tag!
I ordered like 15 pairs of falsies and two eyelash glues (Might I add the Duo Adhesive was only $4.99!!!!!) and it only came to $45.00 including postage and shipping!
I ordered them on the 14th of November and they arrived 23rd, which I thought was pretty good considering they came from the U.S of A!
When ordering be sure to hit up the Promo tab at the top of the page to get money off your order :)

Now that I have loads I wont have to run down to the chemist in a last minute panic before I head out for the night and I certainly won't have to waste a load of money either! :)
Excuse the photo quality, They were taken on my Iphone.

What kind of eyelashes do you use?

Lots of Love,
*Mwah*
